There is no insecticide available that will give the early insect and virus control offered by Sunup Reflective Films. It is proven that Thrips, Aphids, Whitefly's, Leafhopper's, Cucumber Beetles and other Virus carrying insects are confused and repelled by the specific UV Wavelengths being reflected back up into the plant canopy from this reflective film. These insects tend to stay away from these reflected wavelengths and migrate to other locations more hospitable to their feeding and egg laying. Early control is the absolute key to profitable fresh market vegetable crops and Sunup provides this essential Early & Secondary Control for insect pests and their associated Virus by repelling them from the plant growing environment. The quality of produce fruit is also much better, being cleaner with substantially less feeding damage. -The University of Tennessee has found that UV Reflective Mulch does not repel certain beneficial insects that provide secondary control for insect pests. Research done at the Agricultural Research center indicates that these beneficial insects were still present in suitable populations to offer additional protection to plants. Pollinators and predatory insects remain in suitable numbers to pollinate and provide secondary predation. |
